I got this yesterday.
01 Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang
I love this track. An old one but such a good one. I remember hearing it on radio two in my mother's kitchen when I was wee. Now updated because it was used as a theme for Kill Bill, of course, which only adds to its appeal. Superb.
02 Jonathan Richman - The Girl Stands Up to Me Now
An odd song. Modern yet reminiscent of the late fifties. An enlightened singer but not one I'll be searcing out, sorry.
03 Howlin' Wolf - Spoonful
Lovely, sleazy blues. I can't get enough of this.
04 The Posies - Anything and Everything
Switching from blues to melodic, this song brought to mind paisley shirts and mid-film conflict in romance.
05 Hot Chip - And I was a Boy from School
Bouncy dance beat but I felt the singing was weak.
06 Juana Molina - Tres Cosas
Sexy guitar work and a ZX spectrum load tone. Very reminiscent of the California music of the sixties.
07 The Shins - Sea Legs
I was put in mind of the Ibiza lounge music scene. Sweet, but not my cup of tea.
08 Dawn Penn - No No No
Reggae beats. I had heard this before - was this a cover? I love the song, anyway. Ms Penn has a delicious bedroomy voice.
09 Them - Baby Please Don't Go
A jump to Jive. I was spoilt for this one because of my love for Muddy Waters. Interesting cover. I remember Van Morrison playing it at Glastonbury in 1981, too.
10 Sea Wolf - You're a Wolf
A pleasant song but the wolf had no bite (ha-ha). A little nondescript.
11 Big Star - Feel
One of the seventies rock bands, this song gives me the image of flares and platform boots. I'd have liked it then, but not now, I'm afraid.
12 Santo and Johnny - Sleepwalk
A classic last-chance-for-a-snog at the school disco song.
13 Eleni Mandell - Girls
I liked this one - and yes I do still think about girls - very reminiscent of Jewel. I'll look out for more of Eleni (and added her on MySpace)
14 Jet - Timothy
Oh dogs! I couldn't listen to this one. One of the modern trend of tone-deaf singers.
15 Andrew Bird - Plasticities
I *almost* liked this. I found his voice irritating, as if he was trying to be Jim Buckley and failing.
16 Keren Ann - For You and I
I loved this one and ordered an album of her immediately. Thanks. (And she's hot, too!)
17 Perry Farrell's Satellite Party - Wish Upon a Dog Star
I liked this, but not enough to seek him out. I could see me driving to this music.
18 Fujiya and Miyagi - CollarBone
Another 'almost liked' but I found it too repetitive for my taste.
Thanks for this mix, Kate. There were some very interesting tracks on it indeed, and has prompted me seeking a couple out.

Glad you mostly liked. It was pretty eclectic.
It certainly was, and fulfilled the aim of mix club admirably by introducing me to two new artists.
