I'm really sorry I'm so late with this...
1) Siouxsie & Banshees: Dear Prudence - Reminds me of high school, when goth was cool and Siouxsie was the epitome of bad-ass. I like the reverb and the swirly effects.
2) Kate Bush: The Man With The Child In His Eyes - I love Kate Bush. She has a very unique, lush and sensual voice and this is a gorgeous song.
3) Percy Sledge: When A Man Loves A Woman - A classic! Conjures up images of slow dancing with my hubby at our wedding.
4) Dinah Washington: Mad About The Boy - Another good one! Should be on a James Bond soundtrack, if it isn't already.
5) Etta James: I Just Want To Make Love To You - I've got a dirty little secret: I don't like Etta James. I have always felt pressure to like her... she's clearly talented, she's an icon with the classic rags to riches story... but I just don't (well, except for At Last. I can't find anything to dislike about that one).
6) Gypsy Kings: Bamboleo - I don't understand a lick of Spanish, but who cares?Shake your booty!
7) Alicia Keys: Fallin' - This song is extremely played out in America, to the extent that I am no longer able to appreciate it, unfortunately.
8) Grace Jones: Private Life - Dig this one... the mellow, reggae-style beat, the lyrics, the Grace Jones weirdness... nobody else does weird quite like Grace Jones. I'll be adding this one to my iPod.
9) Pink: Family Portrait - Not a Pink fan. At all.
10) Michael Andrews: Mad World - I am a big Tears For Fears fan and love the original... and I think this cover version is really nice.
11) Dire Straits: Love Over Gold - Pleasant tune, but doesn't captivate me in any way.
12) Tim Buckley: Dolphins - Too shmaltzy for me. Jeff Buckley, on the other hand...
13) Portishead: Glory Box - I love Portishead. Beth Gibbons' has such a sexy voice. This song fits the theme perfectly.
14) James Blunt: Goodbye My Lover - Dude sounds like a lady... and not in a good way. I don't understand the hype about this man.
15) Sinead O'Connor: Nothing Compares To You - Another throwback from my high school years. Prince was smart to give this song to Sinead. Her "angry rebel" schtick really works well here.
16) Depeche Mode: Enjoy The Silence I lovelovelove this song, always have. Pretty, melancholy melody, angsty-lyrics... it's all in there. I was a big Depeche Mode fan in high school, and hearing this made me dig out all my old LPs.
An interesting mix that included a handful of old favorites and definitely conjured up some memories for me. Thanks, Leatherdykeuk!

I'm glad some of them struck a chord, and you weren't late at all, considering how long it took to get to you.
