KLF - It's Grim Up North.
OOh, I like this. I can see myself twirling - something - in a club to this. An upbeat dance track with the amusing lyrics af a train destination announcer. I'm not sure about the 'Jerusalem' section, though. I'll be looking out for more KLF.
Blameless - Breath (a little deeper)
A softer tone this one, reminiscent of Bronski Beat without the anthem alement.
Sorry, but I found this one not worth a second listen.
Speedy - Boy Wonder (live)
Catchy guitar work. Good driving music.
Arctic Monkeys - No Buses
Sweet and catchy, but the poor vocalist needs some voice training. Very reminiscent of a lot of obscure 60s bands.
Long Pigs - On and On
Sorry. Another one I didn't like. It had nothing to stand out from the rest of heartbroken ballads.
Pulp - Sheffield: Sex City
An interesting track, but not one of their better ones. I've heard a lot better song-from-sex-talk conversions.
Pulp - Last Day of the Miner's Strike.
This fell in between a lot of slots. Not political, not rallying, not melodic. The chap's voice really annoyed me. It sounded like he needed to blow his nose. Another to skip, I'm afraid.
Billy Bragg - Northern Industrial Town.
I hadn't heard this one before, and I loved it, excapt for the recording was dreadful - it kept skipping. Was it recorded from the radio or from vinyl?
Human League - The Bus To Crookes.
Partially enjoyed this, although it was another vinyl, wasn't it? The skips and distortions rendered it unlistenable.
Thanks Davy. I hadn't heard any of those before, and I'll be looking out for the KLF for an extended listen.
